135. Request your DD214 online

Dear Friends, Wanderingvets and Fellow Veterans:

Here is something I learned this week.

The National Personnel Records Center has now simplified the request process for DD Form 214 and other service records.

You may follow this link http://www.archives.gov/veterans/evetrecs/index.html or come back to my Links at anytime in the future and request any service document you need.

They have simplified it to include all service records and medical records while on active duty as well.

Your Friend,

Ps. Someone let me know if this actually helps them!

This could be a really good way to speed up those VA claims by going in with all of your medical records in ADVANCE!

The military still cannot cross access the records to the VA yet electronically.

Thank you! I lost my copy of my DD214 and need it for a job app. This was timely and helpful.

I wasn’t injured in the service but I guess I should get a copy of my medical records too. Just to be safe.

This is great! Thank you for this. One of the requirements that we ask for when helping financially is that they have a DD 214. More times than not, especially if it is a Vietnam Vet, they have lost it and have been told that it will take up to 6 months to get one. This site will help soooooo much! Thanks for this my friend!

It works very well. I have been assisting vets using the system for a few weeks now and they have been receiving their dd214s within 2 weeks. I remember it use to take months. You can use the system to request replacement medals, etc, or ones that you didn’t receive but where on your records.

Great on-line resource to have given the current circumstances of errors & backlog of this document.
