my father, James Allen Harvey J.r is a returned veteran. he came home when the war was over. he left at the age of 17. he was a army paratrooper in the 182nd airbourne division. if theres anyone out there that would be more than happy and willing to talk to him.. brother to brother// please email me at hollister7889@yahoo.com and i will be more than happy to let him no. even more happy to let him no he isnt the only one home.
my husband is a vietnam vet going thru troubled times…unable to work due to health problems…went to LZ Lambeau, a welcoming home event held in Wisconsin at Lambeau Field (home of the Green Bay Packers); was more vet welcoming home vet vs. civilian welcoming home the vietnam vets; got a little too commercial which he was afraid would happen. Wisconsin Public Television tried to do a good job, which they did; was televised; there is even a book on the event, but how much of this is going to help the veteran? It is always good for one vet to talk to another vet. His name is Mike.
Ladies, I belong to an organization called Soldiers Angels that serves deployed troops, wounded warriors, veterans and their families…there is a way to enter a card request there for your loved ones if you’re interested. Also many pages on facebook where vets can connect…try the pages for each Veteran’s individual battalion – I’ve seen some wonderful pics posted by Nam vets on those pages – also pages like “Remember the fallen” for memories of lost friends and battle buddies. Do you have a local VFW? They may have some advice as well. Please thank these HEROES for me!
